Nienke Klaassen studied Technical Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Twente. The subject of her master thesis was ‘Image-, fluorescence- and radio-guided navigation for identification and localization of lymph node metastases in prostate cancer’, which she performed at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the Radboudumc. After graduating in May 2018, she started her PhD in July 2018 at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine under supervision of Frank Nijsen and Jurgen Fütterer. The project is funded by the STW and aims to develop an intratumoral treatment using radioactive holmium microspheres for patients with brain malignancies.
